Installing the .NET Agent for Windows Server(IIS)


Before you can install the agent, you need to have the following:

  • A tCell account setup
  • An Application Created (Admin > Applications)
  • .NET Framework 4.5 or later installed on the server
  • IIS Version 7.0 or later
  • The Server and Application must be 64bit.
  • Allow the server to establish outbound HTTPS(port 443) connections to the tCell cloud: What IPs do tCell agents connect to?
  • Local administrator rights on the server


Create the application:

  1. Click on "Admin" in top navigation bar
  2. Click "Applications"
  3. Type in a new application name in the field
  4. Click "Add"

Get the config file:

  1. Click on "Admin" in top navigation bar
  2. Click "Download Agent"
  3. Select ".NET" agent
  4. Download either the zip or the msi file as desired
  5. Select "Create New API Key" (default)
  6. Click "Download Config File" to download the agent's config file (which is prepopulated with the application and key information)

Install the agent:

  1. Run the installer (.msi) and follow the on-screen instructions. This will install the agent and put the required files in the directory you specify. (Default: C:\Program Files\tCell, Inc)
  2. Place the "tcell_agent.config" file in the root folder of your application.
  3. If you have more than 1 application running on the same IIS, you need to follow the above instructions to create an application and the config file, for each application. You will need to place the config file in the root directory of each application.
  4. Open a command prompt window, as an administrator, and run the following command to restart IIS:


  5. Your application is now protected by tCell!
